Emily Aguilar is a filmmaker and founder of the 1st Annual dcV Movie Festival. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Film & TV Production from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. Since moving to California four years ago from her hometown in Washington D.C., she has worked as a production coordinator for many commercials and music videos as well as directed and produced two of her own short films. She recently produced a project with extraordinary filmmaker Sean Blue about photojournalist Miguel Lugo and his journey in Honduras capturing astounding images of the people, especially children, living in the shadows. In her spare time, she volunteers at CHIRLA: Coalition of Immigration Rights of Los Angeles. Emily resides in Los Angeles and continues on making movies.
