Justine Bassett specializes in the design of creative experiences and spaces that stimulate inquiry and learning, particularly among children and teens. She founded and ran a custom design business for schools, museums, and children's hospitals, with clients including Boston Children's Hospital and the North Shore Children's Museum. Her artwork has been carried by Pottery Barn and is still sold nationally. Her early career was in international affairs, when she worked in Europe, Asia and Africa. In addition to her work at NMNH, Justine volunteers at the NMAH's Spark!Lab, and at both places she is excited by different ways to spark learning and discovery.
